Ho! Ho! Ho!

Usually I'm all "bah-humbug" around the holidays, but I couldn't resist posting a pic of my friend who DOES have the holiday spirit.

This is Shicchan, the beloved pet of my #1 girlfriend from Japan. Shicchan sure looks cute playing Santa.

What about you? Have you been enjoying the pre-Christmas happenings? Shopping? Wrapping? Stressing?

Don't worry, it'll all be over soon and then you can start with...New Year's Resolutions!

Weather: Actually been pretty nice
except for the spell of rain earlier this week.

It's easy being brown.

What's so great about this guy?

I totally don't get it. My female human was all excited to go see The Muppets earlier today. She should have been cooking turkey instead.

I just can't see why this green character, Kermit, is any better than yours truly. I'm brown and adorable...he's green and adorable. Can't we all just get along?

She said the movie was great. Even better than spending time with me? I think I've got a rival...

Weather: Overcast with a chance of showers. Brrrrrr.

My New Condo

About two weeks ago, my humans hooked me up
with a kitty condominium.

IT'S AWESOME.
What I really want to know is: What took them so long?!

I love my new condo, and if you ever come to visit, you'll surely find me on one of the three tiers.

Weather: For this 3-day weekend, I heard it's gonna be so hot.

Please Meet Bonsai

Look at this gorgeous lady. Bonsai, who is loved by a co-worker of my human female, has recently come into my life via online introduction. I wish I could have a chance to meet her because she is just gorgeous, all 14 pounds of her.

Look at the sparkle in her eyes complemented by the dazzling holiday decorations in the background! Behold the tasteful and fashionable collar, worn in celebration!

*Sigh* Bonsai truly is a lovely sight.
Could this be the stirrings of love?

Weather: Pretty warm these days. The sun channel, 24-7.

A Good Friend

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! You can see here I've cuddled up to one of my best pals, Poopie. Please don't be put off by his name; he isn't messy or smelly!

Poopie and I often hang out on the bed when my humans are at work. He told me he wants a chew toy for V-day, and I, of course, want TUNA.

Weather: Been really warm lately, like in the 80s!
But, I hear rain is coming soon :(

I forgot!

Oh no! Two days ago it was Father's Day. I didn't say anything to my male human. I was too busy sleeping. It was hot.

I hope he's not mad. He usually doesn't get mad at me, even when I walk on the dinner table, meow in the middle of the night, or beg for food. He's the best dad ever.

Well, the following pic is the best I can do at this point. A hearty apology to my male human for forgetting this important day!

Weather: Still a bit gloomy and overcast each morning.
Afternoons are hot, though.

My Grandparents

Later this morning I'll be shipped off to grandma & grandpa's house as my humans take off for San Diego the next two days.

I like visiting g-ma/g-pa's place because they have stairs I can run up and down for some exercise. Also, they spoil me rotten. I hope they feed me extra tuna!

Weather: Two sun baths already today.
It's a gorgeous Memorial Day Weekend!

Is it really over?

Wow, I think you're close to being done. I actually helped a lot with your class, wouldn't you agree? In fact, here I am helping with grading your final test:

Then, I really liked the answers for the original most handsome man's test, so I gave him a bite mark...'cause I couldn't hold the pen in my hand to write "Great Job!"

Finally, I got pretty bored of grading papers...

I'd like to offer some advice
for your future success in all your goals.
Best of luck to my favorite readers at ALP.

Eat a good breakfast.

Get plenty of rest.

Take time to enjoy the finer things in life.

Weather: No summer yet.
But, traditionally things heat up
toward the end of May around these parts.

Thanks Mom

To all the mothers out there, my female human included, Happy Mother's Day! Although I can't remember my real, biological mom, I'm quite happy with my current caregiver.

She feeds me regularly, brushes me when I want, and always keeps my litter box clean. Really, what more could a cat ask for? Hmm...maybe more tuna?

That's it! I'll be giving her a can of tuna later today so we can share. I know that she loves it as much as I do.

Weather: Still very nice lately.
I don't want summer to come and bother me yet.

Happy New Year

One of my human's coworkers told her she would celebrate the new year this weekend.

Wait, wait, wait.
Isn't that January 1st?

Apparently, not in all cultures. March 21st will mark "Nowruz," and my female human has many students and good friends from this area of the world. She hopes that all the people from this corner of the globe will have a happy celebration this weekend.

Weather: Finally, just right. Not too hot or cold.

Congratulations

I heard from my human Cindy that her students graduated yesterday. What does THAT mean? She seems conflicted: both happy and sad. Maybe I should graduate, too?

Nah, I'll just take a nap as is par for the course.

Also, she told me a student requested that I start a book club. I think it's a great idea because I know I'll be doing lots of reading w/Cindy during her winter break. So, here's the first of "Belial's Best Book of the Week."

Belial's Best Book:
How the Grinch Stole Christmas, by Dr. Seuss. This is a classic holiday tale about a Scrooge-like character who messes up "the big day" for all the Whos in Whoville. DON'T BOTHER w/the Jim Carrey movie version; the book is true magic. (ISBN: 9780394800790)

Weather: Cold, cold, cold at night.
I seek refuge under the bed covers most nights
to soak up my humans' warmth.

Trip or Treat

I just overheard my male human talking on the phone to my lady human: she's going to Target.

I hope she buys me something good. I DON'T want a stupid Santa cat hat like she bought me last year.

Please bring me something of the tuna variety!

Weather: Nice and cool. My winter coat is working out just fine.

NOT cats and dogs

This week we've had two storms come through. Right now it's sprinkling outside. I hope it clears up because I want some sun!

I was thinking of buying my human Cindy this umbrella for Christmas 'cause it's really cute. When it rains and she carries it, she can always remember my thoughtfulness. Guess I need to go check amazon.com!

Weather: Rain. Not cats and dogs, but just drizzly.

Why all the turkey?

Yesterday's holiday left me high and dry. NO TUNA anywhere. Too much turkey for my tastes.

I'm not really a meat eater; I prefer my meals straight from the ocean. Hence, I didn't flinch at all yesterday as my humans roasted a turkey at my house. Fish always smells better than meat.

I heard that for the next big holiday, Christmas, ham is the usual main dish. WHEN IS IT TIME FOR TUNA?!

I think I'll boycott all holidays until 2010 and submit my tuna proposal to Obama to have this country change its backward ways. Fish is much healthier than other animal flesh, don't you think?

Weather: The only sign of winter is the temps drop a bit at night.
The days have been fairly warm, though.
Sunshine: 1, Winter: 0

She's All Mine

My human Cindy seems sad because she can't go trick-0r-treating w/her nephews on account of being sick...well, her cloud is my silver lining. We're going to spend the night on the couch watching scary movies.

My other human hasn't chosen the movie yet, but he's a fanatic of all things Hollywood horror. You should see his DVD collection! So many gory, bloody titles. They're all in good fun, though!

Hope YOU all had a nice Halloween!
Next up: Thanksgiving!

Weather: I can't really decide. Is it cold? Is it warm?
Weird weather patterns these days.

Waaaay too Early

On Friday, my humans went shopping at Costco. Of course, they brought me back food & the all-important litter. But I digress.

They told me they saw Christmas decorations...already. Now just wait a minute. My calendar tells me that Halloween hasn't even passed yet.

Then, we've got to get through Thanksgiving...why the rush people?! I think we need to enjoy each day as it passes instead of the hurry-up-and-wait mentality that surrounds holiday celebrations.

Last Xmas, my humans took a small trip to avoid the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I wonder if they'll do it again? As long as somebody babysits me while they're away, I don't care!

Weather: Gorgeous, crisp fall mornings and evenings.
Don't forget your sweaters!

My Favorite Month

Many people associate October with the fall harvest, or even Halloween on the final day of the month.

Not me! October is the month when we celebrate and honor black cats the world over. Black cats often get a bad rap because of many superstitions, but they're actually quite cute! There's nothing "bad luck-ish" about them.

Does your country have a negative superstition about black cats? America sure does...so that's why it's confusing to me that Halloween decorations are covered with these guys. Talk about a mixed message.

Anyway, welcome to October, the best month of the year, for the best reason: Black Cats!

Weather: Santa Anas in true form yesterday.
It was soooo dry, so I drank a lot of water. You should, too!
