Bad Manners

My little brother needs to learn better table manners. You can see I'm waiting patiently at the edge of the table while he indulges in my female human's breakfast. Jeez, Winslow, can't you wait to be fed our real food? She just left for a second.

I, on the other hand, have impeccable manners in all respects. I come when called (I prefer the moniker "Kitty" instead of Belial), I sit perfectly balanced on laps, and I never claw at people when I'm angry because, well...my previous owner declawed me. Bummer.

I'll do my best to train my little brother to obey the house rules:

ONLY I CAN GO where is forbidden by the humans!

I totally don't get it. My female human was all excited to go see The Muppets earlier today. She should have been cooking turkey instead.

I just can't see why this green character, Kermit, is any better than yours truly. I'm brown and adorable...he's green and adorable. Can't we all just get along?

She said the movie was great. Even better than spending time with me? I think I've got a rival...

Nap Time With Mama

Okay, I'll admit it. I call my female human "mama." Please don't make fun of me. It's just that I really appreciate the way she takes care of me like I was her child.

One thing I'm missing with my mama, er...female human, is nap time. During June she was on vacation, and we did A LOT of this:

Now that she's back at work, we can't nap together as often.
I miss her.

A loooong winter's nap

Oh my goodness. It's been more than a month since I've blogged. You can blame the cold temps and this warm blankie for my absence. That's right...I've just woken up from a long winter's nap.

It's 2011, and I'm ready to go. My holidays were great; I just slept a lot with my female human. She had a month-long vacation and we hung out almost every day.

Now, she's back at work and I miss her very much. I guess I'll have to go back to sleeping by myself all day.

Weather: Brrrr. Cold at night.
I sneak under the covers with my humans almost every evening.

Writer's Block

Have you ever had an assignment that you just couldn't get started on? How about one that was hard to get ideas for? If you answered yes, then you have suffered writer's block.

Well, that's been me the past few weeks. I haven't been inspired to write...and I don't know why. Usually I have plenty to say about my naps, my humans, my beloved tuna...so I'm sorry for my long absence.

The holiday season is fast approaching and I'm sure I'll have lots to talk about as my humans shower me with gifts. Of course, YOU know what I want the most: TUNA!!

Weather: Soooo foggy in my 'hood in the mornings these days.
However, it burns off for a bright and sunny day.

I forgot!

Oh no! Two days ago it was Father's Day. I didn't say anything to my male human. I was too busy sleeping. It was hot.

I hope he's not mad. He usually doesn't get mad at me, even when I walk on the dinner table, meow in the middle of the night, or beg for food. He's the best dad ever.

Well, the following pic is the best I can do at this point. A hearty apology to my male human for forgetting this important day!

Back to School

Today my female human starts her summer session. No more lazy naps. No more petting upon demand. I'll miss her during the day.

The good part is, she's gonna teach writing this summer! I LOVE to help with grading papers. I often stand on them as she's trying to correct and give helpful feedback. My feedback? More prompts about tuna.

Weather: I heard that it's going to heat up this weekend.

During the day when my humans are gone, I sleep on this bed.

Actually, I found out my Japanese girlfriend, Emi, will be coming to stay tonight. The sheets were removed to wash/prepare for her visit. I guess everything is okay, then, because I know she'll give me lots of attention.

Weather: It was chilly this morning, but plenty of sun now.

This CAN'T be right!

I'm a little bit confused about this picture. I know what the guy (second from the right) is, but WHAT is he doing with those meerkats? I don't even think they share the same habitat.

My Twin

One of my girlfriends in Taiwan (Hi! I miss you! Come brush me!) sent me this picture because she said it reminded her of me. What do you think? Is it my twin? Do you think he is an evil or good twin?

A False Alarm?

In my last post, I worried about getting wet in the rain. There has been no rain.
Why do the weather forecasters need to lie and make me so worried?

It's actually been quite beautiful this week. I still wonder if there is a storm lurking somewhere. Ohhhh... "lurk" ...that's a great word. It just might be on the next extra-credit quiz. You should probably look it up.

I would tell you the meaning, but my delicate paws are getting tired from all this typing.

I Spy a Truck

Whenever strangers come to my house,

Trip or Treat

I just overheard my male human talking on the phone to my lady human: she's going to Target.

I hope she buys me something good. I DON'T want a stupid Santa cat hat like she bought me last year.

Please bring me something of the tuna variety!

Weather: Nice and cool. My winter coat is working out just fine.

Psychoanalysis

Sometimes I imagine I'm a dog. Even though it's great being a cat, I often display characteristics of being an animal that says "Woof" instead of "Meow."

• I come when my name is called
• I play fetch with my toys
• I beg for food
• I run to the door when my humans come home

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't give up my feline ways if you paid me. But, still...some days it would be great to look like this:

I started out on Tuesday having to utilize my rain gear like my friend to the left, and now the temps are back up into the 80s. What gives?

Waaaay too Early

On Friday, my humans went shopping at Costco. Of course, they brought me back food & the all-important litter. But I digress.

They told me they saw Christmas decorations...already. Now just wait a minute. My calendar tells me that Halloween hasn't even passed yet.

Then, we've got to get through Thanksgiving...why the rush people?! I think we need to enjoy each day as it passes instead of the hurry-up-and-wait mentality that surrounds holiday celebrations.

Last Xmas, my humans took a small trip to avoid the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I wonder if they'll do it again? As long as somebody babysits me while they're away, I don't care!

Weather: Gorgeous, crisp fall mornings and evenings.

Beauty Sleep

This weekend, my Taiwanese girlfriend is coming to visit. When she comes, I know I'll get a good brushing, plus plenty of play time.

Therefore, I must rest to prepare for entertaining her tomorrow night. See me over there in the bed? I look tired, right? I know, I know. Cats already sleep enough. Still, I want to look my best for her visit.

In this picture, I'm on my human Cindy's side of the bed. That's my favorite place to sleep at night: right next to her on her pillow. Sometimes she complains because then she wakes up with a mouth full of cat fur, but I think that's a small price to pay for the cuddling company of someone as wonderful as moi.

Weather: Mornings and evenings definitely a bit chillier.

Green, AGAIN?!

Now, I don't like to complain, buuuuuut...

I've gotten the green one three days in a row for BOTH breakfast in dinner. What "green one," you might ask?

Well, I'm pretty picky about my food and only will eat Fancy Feast. And I'll only eat the fishy flavors.

The colors I have to choose from are green, pink, and blue. I try to tell my humans to rotate my "feasts," but sometimes they're so busy and they forget.

I'm not gonna take it anymore. NO MORE GREEN...

I'm Bored, Soooo Bored

Do you feel bored in your classes sometimes? What about at home? Lately, I've been EXTREMELY bored cooped up in my house all day.

Why am I bored?
Let me count the ways...

1) No one is home: My humans work insanely long hours.
No one to play with or rub my belly during the day.

2) No new toys: I'm stuck with my mousie and my feather-thingie. Soooo BO-RING. Get me something with batteries.

3) No new food: I've been eating the same stuff for about 4 years now... salmon, tuna, whitefish. Really, can't I get some halibut or shrimp?! Come on!!

Well, at least my humans will be home this weekend. They can entertain me then.

Weather: Hints of fall.
It's getting darker a bit earlier, and the mornings are a tad chilly.
