Bad Manners

My little brother needs to learn better table manners. You can see I'm waiting patiently at the edge of the table while he indulges in my female human's breakfast. Jeez, Winslow, can't you wait to be fed our real food? She just left for a second.

I, on the other hand, have impeccable manners in all respects. I come when called (I prefer the moniker "Kitty" instead of Belial), I sit perfectly balanced on laps, and I never claw at people when I'm angry because, well...my previous owner declawed me. Bummer.

I'll do my best to train my little brother to obey the house rules:
ONLY I CAN GO where is forbidden by the humans!

Weather: August has started off with June Gloom.
Say whaa~!? I'm sure it will heat up by the end of the month, though.

Welcome to your new home Jun-chan!

Yes, I'm feeling better, but my buddy Jun-chan might not be...this kitty just survived a 13-hour plane flight to...Japan! She must be starving.

It's a long story, but one time when my humans went on vacation, I got to live with Jun-chan for a week. She was very kind to me.

I hope she enjoys her new home in Japan. Maybe someday I will live there, too. Then I can eat the freshest tuna sashimi ever!

Weather: Still not too hot. Feels more like March than July.

MEMO TO HUMANS: Feed me

TO: Humans
FROM: Belial
DATE: 4/30/10
RE: Current feeding schedule

Your current work hours have left me in a quandary:
Who's gonna feed me?

Since both of you leave very early and get home after dark, I'd like to request that we somehow stick with my regular breakfast & dinner times at 6, both a.m./p.m.

I'm hoping we can come to some type of agreement on this issue; lately, your inconsistency in feeding times has interrupted my precisely coordinated nap schedule.

I offer the picture below as evidence:

Seriously, it'd better be full by 6 today. No excuses.
Respectfully yours,
Belial

Weather: The strong wind these days rattles my house. It's scary.
I'm gonna go hide under the bed now.

Up on High

The refrigerator is the best place in the world to survey my surroundings. Also, I love what is sometimes inside: TUNA!

When my female human is in the kitchen, I often climb to the top to supervise. "You should add more salt," or "I think a dash of basil would work" are just some pieces of advice I give to the household chef.

Weather: Clouds on the horizon. Yet more rain?

Happy New (food) Year

This picture says it all.
I like my new food.

It's to help me w/hairballs. If you've never had a cat...you probably don't want to know what those are. I hope this food helps! Speaking of food, here's your next book to check out.

Belial's Best Book: Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser. Many of my human's students say that American food is unhealthy. They're right; on the whole it is. Read this book for an interesting exposé on how it got that way. (ISBN#: 0060838582)

Weather: A mild storm just passed.
Looks like clear (but cold!) skies
for the New Year celebrations tonight.

Why all the turkey?

Yesterday's holiday left me high and dry. NO TUNA anywhere. Too much turkey for my tastes.

I'm not really a meat eater; I prefer my meals straight from the ocean. Hence, I didn't flinch at all yesterday as my humans roasted a turkey at my house. Fish always smells better than meat.

I heard that for the next big holiday, Christmas, ham is the usual main dish. WHEN IS IT TIME FOR TUNA?!

I think I'll boycott all holidays until 2010 and submit my tuna proposal to Obama to have this country change its backward ways. Fish is much healthier than other animal flesh, don't you think?

Weather: The only sign of winter is the temps drop a bit at night.
The days have been fairly warm, though.
Sunshine: 1, Winter: 0

It's a Girl!

Finally. I got another color of food besides green. Yesterday was pink. Pink means salmon. Salmon is my favorite! I also heard that it's my human Cindy's favorite type of fish. Hmmm, great minds think (and taste) alike!

This picture is from an interesting art project by JeongMee Yoon. That's right, she's a conceptual artist from Korea. You can see other examples of her work by clicking on her name above.

This pink picture is a series she did about boys and girls; hence, the pink and also blue theme. Oh, blue! I like the blue food, too...maybe that will be breakfast.

Weather: Still. Hot. More. Water. PLEASE.

Green, AGAIN?!

Now, I don't like to complain, buuuuuut...

I've gotten the green one three days in a row for BOTH breakfast in dinner. What "green one," you might ask?

Well, I'm pretty picky about my food and only will eat Fancy Feast. And I'll only eat the fishy flavors.

The colors I have to choose from are green, pink, and blue. I try to tell my humans to rotate my "feasts," but sometimes they're so busy and they forget.

I'm not gonna take it anymore. NO MORE GREEN...
...pretty please

Weather: Seriously, it's pretty hot. I just sit and sweat all day.
You would, too, if you had all this fur.

A Feast

Tonight my human Cindy is having friends over for a shabu shabu party.
You don't know shabu shabu?

It's a Japanese one-pot meal where everyone can add their own ingredients (veggies, tofu, thinly sliced beef or pork) into a boiling pot to cook them. It's very delicious, and I wish I could join them.
I'll just have to be content to watch from the sidelines.

Weather: OH...MY...Soooo hot.
Glad we have the A/C cranked up high at my place.

Up, up, and away!

What's wrong with this picture?
That blue bowl to the left is my food dish.
It's empty.

Here I am leaping gracefully to the counter above so that I can alert my human Cindy in the kitchen about her duty to feed me.

Weather: Thank goodness for the AC.

Ready to Eat...NOW!

I know it's hard to see what I'm smelling. There are many cans of my dinner here waiting to be opened.

Please open one for me...NOW.
I'm hungry. Hurry.

Weather: This is the first morning it hasn't been cloudy when I woke up.
I guess this means it's gonna be hot today.

Chat Noir

Here is another French kitty. I don't know his (her?) name, but this cat looks pretty happy, just chillin'.

My human's friend Winnie sent me this pic from her travels earlier this month in Europe. Also, my human Cindy tells me that when she lived in Japan, she often frequented a chain of cafes there called "Chat Noir."

This cafe was often found in the bigger cities. Her favorite ones were: 早稲田店 (地下鉄駅からすぐ近い), 吉祥寺店 (小さかったけど...), & 表参道店 (中がとてもきれいで、お店の窓から道が見える). Oops, sorry! I forgot some of you can't read Japanese =^.^=

Weather: True June weather now;
cloudy in the morning & sunny in the afternoon.
Just how I like it!

I choose you, Mr. Mousie

A note from Belial's humans: This is what we woke up to one morning. No joke. Photo has not been altered for effect/impact.

We guess that Belial was trying to send us a message in his own small way.

"MY BOWL IS EMPTY, SUCKERS. HURRY."

Weather: April is shaping up to be the best month yet.
Sunny, sunny, sunny.

My Favorite Toys: Part 2

This is my mousie. It is crinkly, small, and very fun to play with.
If I keep staring at it long enough, maybe it will turn into a real mousie that I can chase around relentlessly.

When I play with my mousie, I bat it around in the air, catch it in my mouth, and then crunch on it to listen to the cool noise it makes. I love my mousie.

Weather: I thought March was supposed to go out like a lamb.
It's been cold, windy and a little rainy lately.
